The U.S. of A - Home of the brave Or is it still, home to the slave? Killed daily in search of safety Asylum comes at a cost What we take for granted is used in disadvantaged taunt Grandiose over frivolous amenities, yet shade and cardboard is a consolation to our Haitian brother’s & sister’s - displaced Those who braved the journey for a better way While Haiti, U.S., and the like, find it easy to execute, discard, and annihilate The very souls who’ve built and live amongst the bridges and walls Dream of freedom, while separate from family Targeted, bullied, denied basic needs and entry Now, who line the U.S. Borders Praying to make it (in) one more hour The ground cries out through shed blood and streaming tears Hope-filled mothers, fathers, and children deported back to the plight they fear Which is the better of the two? Haiti or here? Only one would know. Still, we won’t sit in our comfy seats to judge. Instead, we’ll go to war in prayer on your behalf, In Jesus Name!
